Hirginia Vallejo was born in a small town in Huelva (Spain). She started studying flamenco guitar, but when she was nine years old she realized that what she liked most was the piano. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with Prof. José Manuel de Diego Rodríguez in Seville. During her formation she took masterclasses with Mr. Àlex Ramírez, Mr. Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas, Ms. Mie Matsumura and Prof. Emilio Molina among others. In 2009 she obtained a Master degree in Music Performance and a Pedagogical Postgraduate in Spain.
Hirginia has recorded interpretations for the Regional Government of Andalucía and the journal Huelva Información. She has also performed as soloist in different locations in Spain, like Sevilla, Huelva and Barcelona. She has also played in many concerts organized by the Spanish Young Musician Association. Due to her performance and academic career, Hirginia was awarded with the “Mercedes Hidalgo Millán” grant in Sevilla for three consecutive years (2007-2009).
One of her passions is teaching music. For that reason, she has taken many courses on pedagogic techniques while giving music and piano tutorials for more than five years. She has also taught in official schools in Barcelona and in 2010 she passed the official national exam to become a conservatoire lecturer in Spain. Nevertheless in September 2010 she decided to move with her husband to Switzerland. Since then Hirginia lives in Basel where she obtained the Certificate in Advanced Studies for performance in piano, at the Musik Akademie der Stadt Basel under the direction of Prof. Laszlo Gyimesi.
